PSA: Public Service Annoucement
We, at Lost Coast Communications, believe in being an essential part of Humboldt County and are dedicated to serving and supporting the community. An informed community is a strong community!
What is a Public Service Announcement (PSA)?
A PSA is an ad for public events and services that benefit the community as a whole, such as charitable 501(c)3 non-profits, public school fundraisers, public meetings, and community fundraisers for charitable causes. Messages benefiting a specific business, person or organization are not appropriate for a PSA. We do not run national PSAs. We try to focus on hyper-local events and messages.
How do I submit my PSA?
Below are the options to submit your PSA request.
The preferred way to submit your PSA is to record your own message and email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. This can be done on a smart phone, computer or other recording device.
Limit your PSA to 30 seconds or less in length.
Save and send it to us as an mp3 or wav file.
You may also record your message at the Lost Coast Communications studios in Ferndale, CA. Please call the business office at 786-5104 to schedule a time. We do need at least 3 days advance notice. Availability depends on staffing.
Send a written script to email@example.com. Make sure the script can be read in 30 seconds or less. Make sure to include all the pertinent information such as location, time, cost and contact information for the event. We will not read incomplete scripts. We do not create PSAs from event flyers. Due to high volume of submission we are unable to reply to every email. If your PSA was accepted it will run on all 4 stations for up to 2 weeks prior to the event. *
What if my event isn’t a PSA?
Have a fun event that doesn’t quite fit the PSA criteria? Put it on LoCO! Post your event on the Lost Coast Outpost Lowdown event calendar. Click on “Submit Yours” and fill out the online form. It will post automatically.
